- 4 cyl. Class may use cars from all years and may use imports-NO ALL WHEEL DRIVE CARS


NO REFUNDS FOR ANY REASON. NO EXCEPTIONS.

General Rules!

- Only one (1) tow vehicle per demolition derby car in the pit area
- Insurance Waiver: Drivers are responsible for ensuring that anyone around their car has signed the insurance waiver. Pit passes must be worn at all times. Failure to do so may result in disqualification
- Pit Passes: One driver and one (1) pit person will receive free pit passes on the day of the event. All other persons wishing to have access to the pit area will be required to pay for additional pit passes.
- Edge-Motorsports is not responsible for lost or stolen articles left unattended before, during or after the event.
- Risk: Demolition derbies are hazardous and high-risk sport; therefore anyone with a health condition ie: concussions, heart problems etc. or who is pregnant should not compete.
- Injuries: Edge-Motorsports is not responsible for any injuries sustained either by driver or pit crew. It is your responsibility to carry your own insurance for this purpose
- Alcohol: Edge-Motrorsports has a zero tolerance policy for the consumption or possession of any alcohol or controlled substance by the driver or pit crew. Any person found in possession or under the influence of such substances will be disqualified from participation in the event and will not be issued a refund.
- Registration: All drivers are required to sign in with Edge-Motorsports at the time of their arrival. Cars and drivers are required to arrive 1 ½ hrs prior to event start time.
- All drivers must attend the drivers meeting on the day of the event.
- Age: Drivers must be 18 years of age.
- Drivers Door: Must be painted white. A roof number plate is suggested & both front doors must have numbers
- Refusal of Entry: Edge-Motorsports reserves the right to refuse entry for any reason and to reject any person at any time. All persons holding an Edge-Motor Sports pit pass must be 16 years of age.
- Refund: If your car is Disqualified for any reason you WILL NOT be given a refund
- Seat Belts: All cars must have working seat belts.
- Helmets: Drivers must have a CSA approved helmet with working chin straps
- Safety Glasses: must be worn at all times or helmet with shield.
- NO shorts: drivers must wear coveralls and safety footwear.
- ALL cars must have a working CSA approved fire extinguisher secured within reach of the driver.
- ALL EXTINGUISHERS MUST HAVE A WORKING GAUGE

All Work Must be Done Prior to Your Arrival to the Derby

Vehicle Preparation!

1. Flammable material: All flammable material except the dash board and drivers seat must be removed
2. All lights, trailer hitches, chrome moldings and exterior trim must be removed
3. Glass: All windows and mirrors (GLASS) must be removed prior to the derby.
4. Gas Tanks: Stock gas tanks must be removed. Must use CSA Marine gas tank or custom metal tank. Gas tank must be securely mounted in the middle of the back seat. Un safe gas tanks will result in disqualification
5. After inspection, gas tanks must be covered with a fire-proof shield ie: rubber mat
6. All fuel lines MUST HAVE leak proof fitting with steel or rubber lines. NO EXCEPTIONS
7. Cars with electric fuel pumps must have a safety shut off switch mounted on an easy access surface such as the dash, and it should be painted red. Secondary switch should be located on the outside roof marked in Red.
8. Battery: must be moved to the front passenger floor and placed in a box/container away from the gas tank and MUST be covered with a shield after inspection. Only one (1) 12 volt car battery allowed
9. Hood/Trunk: A 12-inch hole MUST be cut out of the hood above the carburetor. Hood must be fastened down in at least four (4) places by wiring, strapping or chains. Trunk may be welded in six locations using 3” Square plates Maximum. Must Cut 16” hole in Trunk if Trunk can not be opened for inspection.
10. Body Panels: Metal may be cut from around wheels for clearance. Front and Rear ¼ panels may be bolted with up to 5 bolts per panel with maximum 3/8 bolts.
11. Frames: No welding of frame seams top or bottom. Rusty or bent frames may be repaired with steel no thicker than factory and no longer than 4” on 2 sides only. Over repaired frames will be considered reinforced and will result in disqualification. Officials’ discretion. Paint repaired frames orange before coming to the Track
12. Motor or Tranny protectors may only be fastened to the Motor & or Tranny No Fastening to the Frame or Body.
13. Any repairs to frames must be revealed to Edge-Motor sports at the time of inspection. If ANY other welding is found, it will result in immediate disqualification
14. Bumpers: Only car bumpers may be used. Bumper styles may NOT be interchanged. Must remain front on front and rear on rear. 1970’s bumpers CANNOT be used on 1980’s cars. Bumper shocks and mounting brackets may be welded. Bumpers can be chained and the ends may be cut straight off. NO truck bumpers or reinforced bumpers. No 6-8cycl. Bumpers on 4cycl. Cars. 4cycl. Cars stock bumpers only. Bumpers cannot be wired or welded to hood.
15. Interior Modification: No welding any inside body support seams or fire wall seams
16. Holes cut in the fire wall must be covered with an inflammable material.
17. Large holes in the floor AND sun roofs must be covered with metal that is securely fastened
18. Windshield Bar: A steel MUST be placed over the center of the windshield for drivers protection. Bars deemed reinforcement must be altered or removed. "A" or "H" framing for windshield must be no more than 36" wide.
19. All airbags and airbag sensors MUST be removed.
20. Dash Bars: Absolutely NO bars across the dash
21. Interior Bars: A 3" x 3" bar may be run behind driver seat from post to post. The bar may extend downward and be welded or bolted to the top of the rocker. A maximum of three (3) bars maybe run inside the driver’s door for safety. A rollover bar is permitted. No bars down passenger side on inside. Bars may not be welded to the frame.
22. Tires: Maximum 16” D.O.T. TIRES ONLY LOW AGGRESSION. NO FORK LIFT TIRES. NO SOLID TIRES.FILLED WITH AIR ONLY. TIRES MAY BE DOUBLED. NO SPLIT RIMS. NO SCREWING TRIES TO RIMS OR STUDDING. ALL WHEEL WEIGHTS MUST BE REMOVED. STOCK SIZE FACTORY RIMS. Example- No 16” rims on a car that has 15” rims from the factory. No welding of valve stem protection.
23. Radiators: Must be flushed and replaced with water only. NOT Antifreeze Overflows must be secured and pointed downward. Floating radiator cradles allowed no reinforcement.
24. Front Grill: No screens allowed. (Stock A.C. condensers permitted in original position.)
25. Transmission Coolers: Are allowed only in the engine compartment. Dipstick must be wired down or overflow tube secured and pointing downward.
26. Body Mounts: Four body mounts may be removed. Rad cradle does not count as 2 of your locations.. Threaded rod no larger than ¾ “ in diameter may extend up through 4 places. All other body mounts must have factory steel insert still in place with factory size bolts. These bolts may extend up thru the floor with 3” washers top and bottom. Your choice of any 4 locations.
27. Suspension: Suspension of each car must remain stock (coil springs cannot be changed to leaf springs) Broken or sagging springs may be changed. No spring helpers, blocked spring or shocks. Rear ends may be changed. Rear control arms may be changed. Rear differential No Reinforcement or Protection. Gears may be welded. Steering columns, drive shafts and rear sway arms may be altered. Ball joints, tie rods, control arms and steering linkage must remain stock-NO REINFORCEMENT ALLOWED Trailing arms must be trailing arm material - no square tubing. No truck rear ends in cars. No reinforcement in any way.
28. Drivers Door: Driver's door must be reinforced and can be welded solid. Drivers door window can NOT be covered with crash bars or mesh. All Other Doors must be fastened shut with wire, straps, ¼" chains or spot welded.1" every 12" or 6 - 3" square plates welded.
29. Flat plate may be applied to outside of Car (FOR 1980 & NEWER CLASS ONLY) ¼” thick no wider than 12” and no longer than 72”. May be bolted in 4 places and welded 1” every 12 inchs
30. No “C” channel allowed on the sides of the car.
31. Drivers Meeting: Running and safety rules will be explained in the mandatory drivers meeting
32. All parts and vehicles must be removed from the event site following the demo.
33. Edge Motor-Sports can and will change safety rules to meet track or weather conditions.
34. At any time throughout the derby any car can be re-inspected by an Edge-Motor Sport official.
35. Protest: A fee of $100.00 will be required to dispute any competing vehicle. If the vehicle in question is found to be Illegal then you will get your $100.00 back and that person and vehicle will be disqualified. If it is found legal then your $100.00 goes to them for the trouble. Protest will not be entertained under any other circumstances.
